As part of the ongoing Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM) Global Network Week 2026, participants continue to gain a deeper appreciation of Africa's business landscape through engaging discussions with thought leaders and immersive experiential learning. During the session on Emerging Markets, Digital Infrastructure, AI and Growth in Africa, Dr. David Wachira, PhD made an attempt to change the perception about Africa and pointed out how digital infrastructure, urbanization, and artificial intelligence will shape the future of the continent. According to him, the biggest problem of Africa is not the lack of opportunities, but implementation, and it is crucial to develop the solutions which will be relevant, inclusive, and scalable. Moreover, the participants took part in the session called Strategic Options for Doing Business in Africa hosted by Dr Geoffrey Otieno Otieno who said that there was not one Africa, but 54 Africa’s. The speaker analysed the evolution of the continent, its institutional gaps, and strategic options of market entry. In the Emerging Markets and Capital Raising class, Stephen Gugu gave practical lessons on how to raise capital and sustain businesses in emerging markets. Gugu showed how good governance, access to financing, and solid business fundamentals determine where investments should be made and emphasized that there is plenty of opportunity throughout the continent for those who can handle the intricacies. Outside of class, the students were exposed to Kenyan culture through off campus experiences such as their trip to Nairobi National Park and Giraffe Centre. The GNAM group also got to visit Nia Fiber and Linea Pipes to get a sense of what industrialization looks like in Kenya.
