🚨 BREAKING NEWS: #Spain is doubling down on renewable energy modernization. https://lnkd.in/d7sfqiTa The Spanish Government has increased funding for wind and hydropower repowering projects by an additional €220 million, bringing the total budget of the REPOTEN 2 program to €512 million. The initiative aims to replace aging wind turbines with next-generation technology, modernize hydroelectric facilities, and boost hybrid energy storage deployment. The move could support more than 2 GW of wind repowering, 900 MW of hydropower upgrades, and around 1,500 MWh of storage capacity, mobilizing over €3 billion in investment. A clear signal that repowering and storage are becoming key pillars of Europe's energy transition.
