Most career advice is built for leaving a bad job. Almost none of it tells you how to recognize a good one while you're still in it. Career coach Angee Linsey has had the rare convergence twice: strong leadership, sharp peers, meaningful work, and a culture that holds up under pressure - all at once, in the same place. Most people get that once, if ever, and don't notice until it's gone. Her piece in Strategic lays out six questions worth running against the job you have right now, not the one you left: * Do you respect the people above you - not agree with, respect? * Are your peers actually raising your game? * Is the work connected to something you care about? * Can you do your best work here? * How does this place handle it when something breaks? * Are you proud to say where you work? The line worth saving: "You can be present in a place without ever really being in it." Great jobs are rare. Good ones are worth noticing too. Save the restlessness for when it's actually warranted.
