#usnavy #entrepreneurs #founders Just one example, with no prior experience or education, against all odds, and those telling him what he proposed to do was impossible (many of us have heard this before)... James Buchanan Eads (May 23, 1820 – March 8, 1887) was a brilliant, self-taught American civil engineer and inventor who built constructions with no prior experience. He held more than 50 patents and was known internationally. He built the first 4 heavily armored gunboats aka ironclad warships, in just under 100 days, to help the Union during the Civil War. Over the course of the entire war, he built around 30 of these armored river boats. He designed and built the Eads Bridge over the Mississippi River in St. Louis, which was designated a National Historic Landmark. Celebrating America's 250 years, we also honor those U.S. innovators, that against all odds, successfully built what they promised 💪👏🙏
