A significant step for UK–Japan semiconductor collaboration. The important point here is not only access to leading-edge technology. It is the creation of a clearer pathway for eligible UK companies to engage with one of the world’s most ambitious advanced semiconductor manufacturing programmes. The UK doesn't need to own every part of the semiconductor value chain. But it does need trusted routes from research, design and prototyping towards manufacturing, scale and international partnership. That is where UKSC can play a useful role: as a neutral facilitator, helping make UK capability easier to find, easier to connect and easier to take seriously on the global stage. Congratulations and thanks to everyone involved in getting this agreement in place.
