Here's a blatant self promotion post. Over the last year, my friends and I have written and recorded a "narrative podcast" - an awkward way to describe a modern version of an olde tyme radio serials. Hildy the Barback and The Lake of Fire is a dragons-n-sorcerer epic quest tale chockablock with comedy, music and a world class cast (Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone, Octavia Spencer, Glen Close, Alison Janey, Joel McHale is smattering of the assassins row we put together). Take a listen if you are so inclined (link in the post). And here's the "LinkedIn" part of the post. This was all done by just a handful of us. We built our own recording booths. I engineered and edited. Our friend wrote and sang original songs. We all collaborated on promotional materials. Melissa and Ben arranged their own press tour and visited GMA, Kelly Clarkson, Watch What Happens Live and more. In a time when the entertainment business (among others) are "retrenching", creating your own product or service might be the only path to do the work that you love. Doing this podcast was easily the most fun and creatively fulfilling thing I've done in a long time. I think the show is hilarious and weird and I love it. And whether it's a huge success or not, I'm really proud of the way we made it. https://lnkd.in/g_d7xgG9
