While attending this year's PCB East 2026 conference, I was involved in many discussions regarding PCB Design, as you can imagine. Quality, speed and reliability of the layouts we design are always challenging when it comes to project schedules, resources, and budgets for the products we bring to market. Yet, I still find that too many PCB teams are still redesigning proven circuitry from scratch — consuming valuable engineering time while reintroducing unnecessary risk. The real opportunity isn’t just designing faster. It’s building a scalable engineering knowledge system through structured PCB design reuse and IP management. When validated schematics, layout topologies, constraints, and proven methodologies become reusable IP assets, organizations gain: • Faster development cycles • Reduced engineering risk • Improved design consistency • Better knowledge transfer across teams • Greater engineering scalability The strongest engineering organizations don’t repeatedly solve the same problems. They build upon proven foundations and continuously refine them over time. Do the work once. Validate it thoroughly. Capture the knowledge. Then leverage it as a force multiplier across every future design.
