𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. A month of reflection. A month of listening. A month of stepping into responsibility with both humility and intent. Stepping into this role has reinforced something I’ve long believed; that leadership, especially in a sector as critical as renewable energy, is not about position, but about stewardship. Stewardship of: - A growing industry that sits at the heart of South Africa’s energy transition - Partnerships that enable progress across public and private sectors, and - A collective vision for a more sustainable, inclusive future Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the privilege of engaging with fellow board members, industry stakeholders, and partners who are deeply committed to advancing wind energy in South Africa. What stands out most is this: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞. As we continue to build on the momentum highlighted at the recent AGM; including strengthening governance, enabling industry growth, and deepening impact.
