Infrastructure doesn’t fail overnight - it fails after years of neglected maintenance. Roads don’t suddenly develop potholes. Bridges don’t unexpectedly become unsafe. Drainage systems don’t instantly clog. These problems often begin as small, inexpensive issues that are ignored until they become costly emergencies. Preventive maintenance is one of the highest-return investments any city or organization can make. It extends the lifespan of assets, reduces long-term costs, improves public safety, and minimizes disruptions for communities. Too often, maintenance is viewed as an expense instead of an investment. The strongest infrastructure isn’t necessarily the newest - it’s the infrastructure that has been consistently maintained. Leadership isn’t measured by how well we respond to failures. It’s measured by how effectively we prevent them. #Infrastructure #Leadership #AssetManagement #UrbanPlanning #PublicSafety #Engineering #Sustainability #Maintenance US Army Corps of Engineers
