🎓 The Fourth and Final Lecture at BFH for this semester 🏁 What if one finger could redesign an entire factory line? This week I delivered my last lecture of the semester at the Automobil- und Fahrzeugtechnik BFH program in Biel/Bienne — and closed it out with the semester evaluation. What a way to finish! 🚗⚙️ Lesson 4 was all about zooming out: how does one customer requirement travel all the way to an approved production part — without ever losing the thread? 🔗 To make it real, we followed a single example end to end: a power-window module with an anti-pinch safety requirement. 🪟 From "the window must never pinch a finger" we traced the full chain: DFMEA ➡️ DVP&R ➡️ PFMEA ➡️ Control Plan ➡️ MSA ➡️ SPC ➡️ Cp/Cpk ➡️ PPAP 🚦 Suddenly all the tools the students had learned separately clicked into one connected map. That "aha" moment? Exactly why I love teaching. 💡 Huge thanks to the BFH and to two curious, energizing groups. 🙏 🔜 And this isn't goodbye — I'm already looking forward to lecturing Systems Engineering again next year. See you in 2027! 👋 👉 Engineers: which tool in that chain do you think teams underestimate the most? #GuestLecturer #AutomotiveEngineering #SystemsEngineering #QualityManagement #APQP #BFH #Engineering #Biel
