Today I had the incredible opportunity to speak at Huntington’s Gateway Pelotonia kickoff—sharing my first-time rider story and the “why” behind my ride. Honored to stand alongside Brendan Lawlor, Prashant Nateri , Joe Apgar (CEO of Pelotonia), Dr. Gina Sizemore , and Chris Kemper. As Brendan said best: let’s fight dirty—we’re not going to let cancer win. Huntington alone has raised $339 million since 2009, with 100% of every dollar going directly to fund cancer research at The James. That’s impact. That’s hope. That’s why we ride. This year is especially personal for me. My aunt is currently fighting stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, and it brings a whole new level of meaning to every mile. I’m so grateful that Dr. Sizemore took the time to answer some of my questions, it meant more than I can put into words. Thank you to everyone who laughed along with me as I shared a few “rookie rider” moments. Turns out, the first ride is just as humbling as it is meaningful. Also, shout out to Brandon Simpauco for being the best MC for this event! If you’d like to support my ride and be part of something bigger, you can donate here: https://lnkd.in/gis3hXmD Every dollar truly makes a difference. #Pelotonia #WhyIRide #FightDirty #EndCancer #TeamHuntington #HuntingtonProud
