Probate applications for low-value estates in England and Wales are increasingly being submitted without professional representation, according to a detailed Ministry of Justice report on trends in the probate service's performance that emerged after digital reforms were introduced. The so-called Reform programme introduced a digital probate service, allowing applicants to complete, submit and view their applications online.
