For 16 years, they’ve worked side by side. Today, Boden locals Helen Eldstål and Jan Severinsen are continuing that journey as shift managers at Stegra. After years in the steel industry, they now get to be part of building something entirely new in their hometown. “What’s happening now is fantastic. It’s only ten minutes from home, and once we’re up and running, there will be opportunities for people with all kinds of skills,” says Jan. Today, their focus is on preparing for operations and helping build the foundations of their area of responsibility. Helen has also visited the steel mill in the United States that serves as a model for the facility in Boden, gaining valuable insights from a site where many of our colleagues were involved in both construction and operations.
