Every building starts with a material choice. In construction, material choice is already a carbon decision. The construction sector uses around 40% of Europe’s steel. And now, regulatory focus is rapidly shifting toward the carbon footprint of those materials. That creates a real opportunity for change. Near-zero emission steel has the potential to significantly reduce the footprint of buildings and infrastructure, without compromising performance. That’s why we are building our plant in Boden: to enable a new standard for materials and accelerate the transition. At Stegra, we are pushing that shift further: 🟣 Up to 95% lower CO2 emissions 🟣 <200 kg CO2 per tonne of steel, vs ~2 tonnes in conventional blast furnace production The path to net zero buildings starts long before construction begins!
