🚨 How robust are our #energy transition strategies in the face of unexpected events or #shocks? 🧐 Disruptions in energy imports, backlash in social acceptance, and unfulfilled promises about new technologies can jeopardise the energy transition, yet we often ignore them in #planning models 🤯 I am happy that this work led by the brilliant Diederik Coppitters at Université catholique de Louvain finally sees the light of day 🥳 ⏰ And it could not be more timely, as reality keeps surprising us beyond imagination these days (unfortunately, not in a good way). It was a true pleasure to work with Diederik and I am confident that this work can pave the way for a wider consideration of #uncertainty in our energy plans. Thank you to the Swiss National Science Foundation SNSF and the European Research Council (ERC) for funding this #research and to our co-authors Gabriel Wiest Leonard Göke André Bardow Francesco Contino 🙏 Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering - Politecnico di Milano Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering (D-MAVT), ETH Zurich Energy and Process Systems Engineering Group, ETH Zurich Politecnico di Milano Energy and Process Systems Engineering Group, ETH Zurich
