A great talk with a former colleague got me thinking. I'm looking for a person for role that hasn't been designed yet. The closest thing I can think of is marketing engineer. So where do you find someone for a role that doesn't exist? Not on LinkedIn. Not in a job database. They probably sit in an agency — media, digital, creative — under a different title, spending their evenings building things nobody asked them to. An automation. A dashboard. Messing about with AI APIs. Thinking: why aren't we doing this at work? That's who I want to grab a coffee with. Not to fill a role, but to work out what it should even be.
