The three projects I propose fit together nicely, experiment with new computer-assisted methodologies (SNA, softwares like Sketchengine) and embrace a number of different European languages (Polish, Portuguese, German, Flemish). They will constitute the bare bones of a book project, ‘A fresh look at the ‘Commercial Revolution’ across the German-speaking world: monopolistic practices, Maritime Commissions and the jostling for commercial privileges’. Let's hope it can decide the direction of the next six years of life ..
