A falsified Certificate of Origin can mean sanctioned oil entering the supply chain. A fake SBLC can mean a cargo shipped against a guarantee that never existed. These aren't edge cases. In OTC physical commodity trading — oil, metals, agri — billions of dollars move through SBLCs, Bills of Lading, SGS certificates that still get checked manually, by email, often too quickly or not at all. I spent 5 years trading physical crude oil OTC across West Africa, and saw this gap firsthand. I'm building VerandiQ — a compliance and document fraud detection platform purpose-built for OTC physical commodity trading. Not a generic KYC tool repurposed for commodities — something built around the documents and procedures this industry actually runs on. Early days. Spending time with compliance officers, trade finance specialists, and brokers before writing a line of code, to make sure what I build reflects what actually happens on the ground. If you work in oil, metals, or agri commodity trading and this resonates — I'd love to hear from you. #CommodityTrading #TradeFinance #Compliance #OTC
