We came together to recognise International Women’s Day and reflect on the contributions of women across our organisation and community. It was a privilege to welcome guests from 𝘙𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘺, Australia’s largest professional ensemble of trained actors with intellectual disabilities. Co-chairs Dr Jacinta Parsons and Sarah Sutherland shared the important role the arts can play in amplifying diverse voices and perspectives. We were also joined by Rollercoaster’s Artistic Director Madelaine Nunn and General Manager Emily O'Brien-Brown. A highlight of the event was a short performance by Rollercoaster theatre members Alanna Julian and India Boyd. State Trustees’ CEO Melissa Reynolds also spoke about recognising the achievements of women and the importance of International Women’s Day as an opportunity each year to come together, learn from one another and have meaningful conversations. Thank you to the Rollercoaster Theatre team for sharing your amazing work with us.
