Barrbunin Beek—meaning Happy Place in Woi Wurrung language—began as a small group of men supporting each other and has grown into a thriving community hub where thousands of Aboriginal people connect, celebrate culture, and feel a deep sense of belonging. Backed by Banyule City Council, it now seeks to take the next step toward self-determination by becoming a social enterprise. This includes cultural workshops, school immersions, and the Caring for Country Series, which teaches native food, weaving, and medicine practices. With a $10,000 sponsorship goal, the campaign will employ Aboriginal facilitators, create leadership pathways, and build long-term resilience—sharing the warmth and strength of Barrbunin Beek beyond its walls. Join us in backing this campaign. Your support is not just a contribution, but an investment in community, culture, and the leadership of Aboriginal people.
