Meet Jazzy and Michelle, who helped test the new coffeehouse coach role (formerly "assistant store manager") at Starbucks. Most U.S. coffeehouses will hire a coffeehouse coach this year. In testing, the role helped baristas feel more supported, allowed coffeehouse leaders to better balance their workload, and helped deliver a more consistent customer experience throughout the day. This investment is also a big part of our commitment to hire 90% of retail leaders internally and to create clear paths for partners who want to build a career with Starbucks.
