The Springbank Off-stream Reservoir (SR1) was activated for the first time this week, operating as designed to help reduce flood impacts for Calgary and surrounding communities. Built in response to the 2013 floods, this critical infrastructure diverts and safely stores excess water to protect homes, businesses, and ecosystems.
