We marked the start of London Climate Action Week with the closing of a USD50 million guaranteed green bond private placement for African Frontier Capital, celebrated at the London Stock Exchange. This innovative structure combines a green bond with an investment-grade third-party guarantee from the Green Guarantee Company, enabling access to longer-term institutional capital. The funding will support the rollout of solar home systems by d.light across Sub-Saharan Africa, helping expand access to affordable, reliable and clean energy for around 4.3 million people. Standard Chartered acted as sole structurer and agent – demonstrating our unique ability to connect global capital with growing businesses across our markets and helping create a pathway for other middle-market companies to diversify their financing and scale sustainably.
