From Clinical Question to Treatment Effect: A Practical Estimand Workshop Series Since the introduction of ICH E9(R1) in 2019, estimands have transformed the definition and interpretation of treatment effects in clinical trials. With ICH M11 now embedding estimand thinking into protocol development, estimands do more than provide a statistical framework. They connect the clinical question, study design, analysis strategy, and interpretation of results. How can organizations implement estimands effectively across the clinical development lifecycle? To help answer this question, our cross-functional team of medical writers Sam Hamilton and Alison McIntosh), data scientists (Hannes Buchner, Gabriele Bleckert) and transparency experts (Maarten van Dijk, PhD, Ulrike Fischer) developed a practical three-level workshop series. 🔹 Level 1 – The Big Picture Learn how estimands influence study design, timelines, resources, and budgets. Ideal for: Business development professionals, proposal teams, senior managers, and clinical operations leaders.
