Did you know the Nullarbor stretches 755km across WA — and its name literally means “no trees”? It’s also home to the longest straight road in Australia, and even a world-record cave dive at Cocklebiddy. But now, there’s something even more powerful out there… Remote roadhouse workers on this iconic stretch are better prepared to respond to injury and trauma thanks to first aid training from St John WA. Eight participants from Cocklebiddy, Caiguna and Madura roadhouses on the Nullarbor Plain’s famous 90 Mile Straight recently completed our Provide First Aid Course, with additional training in managing major bleeding. This is the Community Impact Fund in action — equipping people in some of the most remote parts of WA with life-saving skills.
