From the Hilltop to the Boston Marathon 👟 St. Edward’s alumna Mia Sanchez ’24 is taking on one of the world’s most iconic races, alongside her grandfather, Carlos Sanchez, in what may be a first-of-its-kind moment: a grandfather and granddaughter both qualifying for and running the Boston Marathon together. Read their story: https://lnkd.in/en3tyYur Inspired by her grandfather, Mia began running at a young age and went on to compete as a student-athlete at St. Edward’s. Today, she’s continuing her journey at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and now, preparing to race on one of running’s biggest stages. As a Presidential Award recipient, Mia exemplifies what it means to grow on the Hilltop: “This community has given power to my voice, shaped the stewardship in my heart, and provided support to help make my dreams a reality.” From student-athlete to scholar to marathoner, her story is a powerful reminder of the communities that carry us forward.
