Scalable Intralogistics for Increasing Fashion Demands With its new central retail distribution center in Almere, the Netherlands, Hunkemoller is systematically aligning its logistics operations with growth and efficiency. SSI SCHAEFER was responsible for implementing an automated intralogistics solution designed to deliver long-term performance improvements. At the heart of the concept is a fully automated SSI Miniload system with six aisles and over 90,000 storage locations for cartons – designed to be modular from the outset and expandable with additional aisles. The system is complemented by a high-performance conveyor system that connects all relevant areas of the distribution center. A key advantage of automation: Goods are immediately available upon receipt. Processes run significantly faster and with greater transparency than before – crucial precondition for dynamic fashion supply chain operations. The WAMAS MFS material flow system reliably controls all processes and functions of the conveyor system as well as the SSI Miniload system. SSI SCHAEFER’s automated intralogistics solution ensures that Hunkemoller can operate extremely efficiently and easily expand the delivered systems. 🎥 The video provides more details about the project and its implementation.
