COGNITO aims to develop the world's first global satellite-based system to detect and measure carbon monoxide (CO) emissions from major cities and industrial sites. We will be shining a spotlight on global emission patterns, with a special focus on the iron and steel sectors.. As part of our team, you will: ๐Ÿ”นย Apply novel machine learning tools to detect CO plumes using TROPOMI satellite data. ๐Ÿ”นย Create a massive global catalogue of emission events dating back to 2018.ย  ๐Ÿ”นย Track industrial decarbonisation efforts and see real-world policy impacts.ย  ๐Ÿ”นย Publish your research in top journals and share your work on the global stage. You'll work at the forefront of atmospheric science, satellite remote sensing and machine learning, alongside a team of around 40 scientists, post-docs and PhD candidates.
