A space for science. On 3 and 4 March, the Amsterdam Space Symposium brought together leaders from across the space sector to discuss the role of space in security, climate and sustainable growth. Over the past two days in Amsterdam, experts from academia, industry and government explored how space-based technologies support Earth observation, energy security and climate policy. During the symposium, our colleague Aaldert van Amerongen spoke about how methane emission reduction is a fast way to slow global warming and that the largest reduction potential lies in the energy and waste sectors. "Satellites enable identification of major emission sources, and their sensitivity and spatial resolution are rapidly improving. Satellite data can inform European energy supply policy. We must move from monitoring to action" Thank you to the organisers and everyone we had the opportunity to connect with. #AmsterdamSpaceSymposium #SpaceScience #EarthObservation #ClimateAction #Methane #sronspace
