I am delighted to share that my article, "Beyond the Lunch Box", has been featured in Mentor Magazine. As educators, we often focus on curriculum, assessments, and academic outcomes. Yet, some of the most profound lessons children learn happen during the simple act of sharing a meal. The lunch break is much more than a pause between classes—it is a space where friendships are built, empathy is nurtured, cultures are exchanged, and social-emotional learning comes alive. In this article, I reflect on how schools can intentionally leverage these everyday moments to foster inclusion, belonging, and holistic development among students.
