Ketan Lal, an 18-year-old Dalit boy was allegedly beaten to de@th in Uttarakhand’s Tehri Garhwal over his friendship with a minor “upper-caste girl”. According to the FIR copy accessed by The Hindu, Dhanpal Lal, the victim’s father received a phone call from a man who identified himself as Yashbir Singh Panwar. The caller informed Mr. Dhanpal that his son, Ketan Lal was in Panwar family’s custody. Police have registered a case under Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
