The final major of 2026 is here, and one of golf’s most iconic venues takes center stage this week in Northwest England. Royal Birkdale hosts The Open Championship for the 11th time, with a championship history that includes winners such as Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, Johnny Miller, Pádraig Harrington and, most recently at the venue, Jordan Spieth. SPORTFIVE will be represented by 18 clients in this year’s field, our largest presence at a major championship this season. Among those teeing it up this week are three players making their Open Championship debuts at the Southport links: Alistair Docherty, Jacob Bridgeman and Casey Jarvis.
