One thing I’ve noticed from recent conversations with founders… There’s often a concern that email pop-ups create friction and reduce conversion rate. Instead of debating it, we tested the hypothesis. We ran the site with the pop-up appearing 15 seconds after landing… then removed it. Within 4-5 days, CVR showed a consistent negative trend once the pop-up was gone. Email typically drives around 30% of total revenue, and pop-ups don’t just capture emails - they capture valuable customer data too. Removing them didn’t just reduce conversions, it also limited future revenue opportunities. It’s a good example of a wider pattern I’ve noticed - many founders assume they need a full redesign when in reality, most growth comes from refining the fundamentals rather than reinventing the entire site. Often the biggest wins come from understanding how people naturally shop online and making the obvious choice easier to make. Simple journeys convert better. Complexity rarely does😉 Reiss Oteng #CRO #EcommerceGrowth #FounderInsights #Shopify #ConversionRateOptimisation #D2C #GrowthStrategy
