🏆 We are proud to share that our The Straits Times team was recognised for their impactful storytelling with three accolades at the prestigious Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) Awards 2026 in Hong Kong. The SOPA Awards serve as a recognition of the region’s most outstanding journalists and publishers while supporting and defending a free press in Asia. Here is a look at what ST was honoured for: 🌟Award for Excellence in Explanatory Reporting (Regional/Local): “How South-east Asia navigates the minefields of big-power rivalry” - A brilliant three-part regional series by Philip Wen and other editors and correspondents across Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, unpacking the complex trade and business landscapes driven by US-China tensions. 🌟Honourable Mention for Excellence in Journalistic Innovation (Regional/Local): “Lost games” - An interactive 3D feature by Youjin Shin that beautifully preserved traditional childhood games for younger generations. 🌟Honourable Mention for Excellence in Technology Reporting (Regional/Local):  “Punggol Digital District” - An innovative 3D “scrollytelling” piece led by Charlene Chua that simplified complex technology infrastructure using relatable robot guides.
