A smart city is only as secure as its most vulnerable layer.   At the Space Industry Forum Singapore organized by Novaspace, our Director of Program Delivery, Ishan Basyal, joined the panel on "Digital Future: Next-Gen Space for a Smarter, Connected World," where he made the case for why security can't be an afterthought in satellite infrastructure.   Satellites have moved well beyond backup connectivity. With regenerative payloads and edge computing, they are becoming the backbone of national critical infrastructure globally. But owning satellite hardware doesn't equal sovereignty. Securing the data travelling through it does.   As AI-driven cyber threats grow more sophisticated and quantum computing advances, traditional encryption is approaching an expiry date.
