A new investigation from STAT examines how one operator of micro hospitals has leveraged gaps in federal regulations and the No Surprises Act, raising important questions about #EmergencyCare, reimbursement, and the patient experience. The report highlights how some facilities that don’t participate in #Medicare aren’t subject to the same federal emergency treatment requirements as most hospital emergency departments. #HealthcarePolicy is inherently complex, but its consequences are deeply personal.
