Another fantastic SPARK The Midlands cohort meeting this week, hosted at Potter Clarkson in Nottingham. A huge thank you to Peter Mumford and Andrew Wright for their support, hospitality and for providing such a great venue. The afternoon was packed with engaging discussions on innovation, commercialisation and translating research into real-world healthcare impact. We heard two excellent talks showcasing the breadth of innovation across our cohort: š¬ The BioHelix team presented their novel virtual biopsy technology, demonstrating how innovative imaging approaches could improve cancer diagnosis while reducing the need for unnecessary invasive procedures. š± Thom Wilcockson shared the progress of LUCID, an exciting smartphone-based technology designed to support the rapid identification of concussion. š” Iain Strickland PhD also delivered an insightful session on commercialising medical devices, highlighting the importance of understanding product-market fit, generating robust evidence, navigating regulation and building a clear pathway to adoption. One of the greatest strengths of the SPARK programme continues to be bringing together researchers, clinicians, entrepreneurs and industry experts, all working towards the shared goal of translating innovative research into technologies that improve patient care. Thank you to everyone who contributed to another excellent cohort meeting and thank you to everyone at BSI for your continued support in these sessions. We now take a well-earned break over the summer before the cohort reconvenes in September. Looking forward to seeing everyone then and continuing the momentum. Randhir Tindal Tom Congdon Hasoon S.
