Accurate basemaps form the foundation of smarter infrastructure planning and more responsive disaster management in Africa. Space42 has been named amongst Fast Company's World Changing Ideas Awards list for the Map Africa initiative, developed in partnership with Esri and Microsoft.   The initiative will draw from Space42's satellite data, alongside AI-powered Digital Twin models. It further brings together Esri’s mapping software and Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure to standardize basemaps across all 54 African countries. Once operational, Map Africa will support sectors including ports and logistics, renewable energy, national security, urban planning, and disaster response.   This recognition points to how integrated geospatial data and shared digital infrastructure can advance economic activity through an ecosystem approach.   Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gnd3znqF #Space42 #FastCompanyAwards #MapAfrica
