Space42 and Skylo Technologies have announced a strategic partnership to deliver Direct-to-Device (D2D) connectivity through Thuraya-4, reaching places that previously had limited or no coverage.​ ​ A bi-directional, real-time voice call was demonstrated over Thuraya-4 using a device with no modified SIM or changes to operator core infrastructure. For carriers, this is an extension of their existing network architecture.
