#MeetTheLakers wanders to the third floor of Tioga Hall this week to meet up with Kristin Hovenkotter Greco, an instructor in the Adult and Pre-College Education department, as well as serving at the GED navigator. She works with a team of awesome people to help students achieve their high school equivalency or boost their skills to be prepared for credit courses at SWOCC. You might see her wearing aquatic-animal themed knits on the 3rd floor of Tioga hall. However, she takes summers off from teaching to work as an Interpretive Ranger with Oregon State Parks, leading hikes & tidepool tours, and doing campground programs to teach people about the plants, animals, and history of Sunset Bay, Shore Acres, and Cape Arago State Parks. Kristin is active in local theater, and especially loves putting on free shows in Mingus Park every June with Coos Bay Shakespeare in the Park. She enjoys snuggling her two dogs, knitting, hiking, cooking, and traveling with her husband. Kristin’s advice for success in school and life are: 1) Show up, and 2) DBD (Don't Be Disrespectful -- also an inside joke for any students who have had the pleasure of working with Kristin).
