On Saturday 13th June 2026, members of our team took part in the 17th Annual Pendle Pub Walk, completing a 13-mile route around Pendle in support of Pendleside Hospice, our chosen Charity of the Year. The day was filled with plenty of memorable moments, including a few wrong turns, muddy field detours, unexpected pizza deliveries and even some impromptu karaoke. Despite the challenging terrain, spirits remained high throughout, with lots of laughter and encouragement along the way. Seeing colleagues from across departments come together and support one another. Whether helping each other through difficult sections of the route or simply keeping morale high, the teamwork and camaraderie on display reflected the positive culture we are proud to have at Southerns. We are delighted to share that the walk raised an additional £275 in sponsorship towards our £1,000 fundraising target, helping to support the vital care and services provided by Pendleside Hospice to local people and their families. A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated and supported us. Your generosity helped make the day such a success. Congratulations to our walkers: Olivia, Sallie, Ellie B, Callum, Alisha, Emma, Sam, Chloe, Lucy, Max, Paula, Neil, Lexi, Nicola, Alex, Asfand and Bekki. And, of course, a special mention to our four-legged companions, Cooper, Max, Barney and Hunter, who joined us along the way. It was a fantastic day of teamwork, community spirit and fundraising for a wonderful cause, and we're already looking forward to doing it all again in 2027.
