“Residents of social housing are increasingly involved in scrutiny and decision-making at the level of their individual landlords, and a growing number of housing associations have appointed residents to their boards. I’m proud to be one of four resident board members at Southern Housing. But there are fewer opportunities for residents to have a collective say on regional and national government policy impacting their homes and communities. That's something I'm trying to fix.” Daisy Armstrong, Southern Housing Resident Board Member and Chair of the G15 Residents' Group, outlines her hopes for a new research project into strategic resident involvement in Housing Today. The project will analyse the current G15 Residents’ Group and provide transferable lessons to other multi-landlord or consortium groups of housing associations in the form of a toolkit towards the end of the year. The project is one of 20 funded through the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government Social Housing Innovation Fund, which aims to pilot, showcase and rollout new innovative forms of resident involvement with backing from Baroness Taylor. 🔗 Read it here: https://lnkd.in/eqQCeD2D #SouthernHousing #UKHousing #UKHAs #StrategicResidentInvovelment #SocialHousingInnovationFund
