📢 South Dublin County Council is inviting submissions on a proposed plan for the SDCC part of the City Edge area, which sets out how it will be transformed into a new urban neighbourhood providing jobs and homes over the coming years. The plan which is called the ‘Draft City Edge Strategic Urban Regeneration Framework’ (SURF) is being brought forward as proposed Variation No. 3 to the South Dublin County Development Plan 2022-2028. A number of elements are being proposed, such as: • The integration of mixed uses within City Edge, including: o Residential-Led Mixed Use o Employment-Led Mixed Use o Local Centres • Integrating a mix of uses within Priority Development Areas (PDAs) at Greenhills, Long Mile and Red Cow & Cherry Orchard, at neighbourhood, block and building level • Ensuring mixed-use development contributes to placemaking through active frontages and day and nighttime activity. • Supporting flexible unit designs capable of accommodating existing or emerging employment uses compatible with residential led regeneration.
