Marketing Consultant & Instructor at RYDE Studios

It’s mad to be writing this. This is my last week at SMG. In October of last year I started working in my dream job. Strategy Director at an extremely reputable agency alongside a BRILLIANT team of Strategists; leading on creative campaigning for huge household name brands. I couldn’t believe my luck. I decided a long time ago (circa lockdown, I reckon), that the end goal was to become a Freelance Marketing (strategy, specifically) Consultant. And decided that this would be my last role - for a while at least - where I’d be employed. I gave myself a stretch goal of 12 months to (clear some remaining debt from poor 20-something year old decisions I made back in the day and) build a roster of freelance clients that’d allow my next step to be to leave and become self-employed, whenever I was ready to take it. 4.5 months later, I managed it. So I regretfully leave SMG earlier than I ever anticipated, and am proud to announce that as of Monday 30th March, I'll officially be a freelance Marketing Consultant. 🎉 I’m very lucky to have a fantastic client that I’ve signed a long-term contract with, which enabled me to make this decision, plus a couple of smaller projects. Meaning I have a small allocation of free time to spend working with businesses who may appreciate some strategic marketing support. If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading. And perhaps give this post a share to your network, if you think you may know anyone who’d benefit from a chat with me. A dream come true in so many ways. Here's to the next chapter. 💫
