Expectations is a coming of age, rom-com, drama short film that discusses single life, late bloomer hood, societies pressure to be in a relationship, the pressure to achieve certain milestones by certain ages and how single life is framed as missing out, but especially when invited to events such as weddings. The protagonists, Mollie and Oliver are the only remaining singles in a wedding full of couples. They stumble upon each other both trying to escape.
