π World Refugee Day 2025 | Championing Teachers, Securing Futures π This #WorldRefugeeDay, I'm pleased to share our latest blog at Save the Children UK, where we spotlight the crucial role of refugee teachers in delivering quality education to displaced children. For the 14.8 million school-aged refugees globally, education is a top priority, and at the heart of ensuring that are their teachers. Refugee teachers are not just educators. They are caregivers, mentors, role models, and pillars of community resilience. Yet, despite their qualifications and commitment, many face barriers to certification, recognition, and inclusion in national education systems. Our new report, **Unlocking Potential**, supported by The LEGO Foundation, explores six pathways to certification for refugee teachers - from formal national training access to recognition of prior learning and innovative models like micro-credentialling. π§βπ« When we invest in teachers, we invest in children. π When we recognise refugee educators, we strengthen education systems. π‘ When we create pathways, we unlock potential. The blog also features the powerful voices of refugee teachers in Kenya and Uganda, sharing their experiences, hopes, and the impact that recognition could have, for themselves and their students. Letβs work together to ensure refugee teachers are seen, supported, and certified and not just as stopgaps, but as the qualified professionals they are. π Read the full blog and report: https://lnkd.in/eeQ35xsT #EiE #TeachersMatter #WorldRefugeeDay2025 #SaveTheChildren #RefugeeEducation #PolicyChange #Inclusion #TeachersOfChange #GlobalEducation Stephanie Bengtsson, Ed.D.
