SECI and MahaGenco Renewable Energy Limited (MahaGenco REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly explore and develop renewable energy projects and emerging clean energy technologies in the state of Maharashtra and across India. The MoU was signed by Shri Sivakumar V. Vepakomma, Director (Power Systems), SECI and Shri Abhay Harne, Director (Projects), MAHAGENCO, in the presence of Shri Akash Tripathi, Managing Director, SECI and other senior officials of SECI and MahaGenco REL. The collaboration will focus on the development of Firm & Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE), Round-the-Clock (RTC) Renewable Power, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Pumped Storage Projects (PSP), Green Hydrogen, Green Ammonia, Power Trading and Project Monitoring Consultancy services. With a potential project pipeline of up to 5 GW, this partnership combines SECI's expertise in renewable energy development and power trading with MahaGenco REL's project development capabilities to accelerate India's clean energy transition and contribute towards the nation's Net Zero vision.
