Just when Ember published its bullish forecast on BESS deployment claiming that ‘a self-reinforcing battery boom is upon us’ we see that in many European markets the main limiting factor for utility scale storage is not market opportunity, investor appetite or bankability of projects but rather obtaining a grid connection and getting all permits and approvals to start construction. In that light, we’re proud to announce that our two flagship Romanian projects in Sibiu have received a clean grid connection with low grid connection costs, no grid reinforcements and no charging or discharging limitations. We expect both projects to reach Ready to Build status in Q2 2026. Sibiu 1 - 200 MW / 800 MWh BESS with 170 MWp solar Sibiu 2 - 365 MW / 1460 MWh stand alone BESS Both projects share a newly-to-be-built sub station directly connecting into the 400 kV line passing the lands. Interested? Send us a note and we’ll share the teaser with you which we prepared in collaboration with our trusted M&A advisors Blu Capital Partners. #RenewableEnergyInvestment #UtilityScaleSolar #EnergyStorage #InvestInRomania #GreenInfrastructure
