It is only by speaking to real women, listening to their lived experiences and being physically present in their communities that we can interpret nuances accurately and stay awake to emerging insights. This is why SOFIAA Health’s CEO, Dr Jacqueline Koay, insists that our team is embedded in the local communities where we run our pilot programmes - not as observers, but as active participants.
