We are thrilled to share a new manuscript: "Mpox severity and mortality in Africa: a systematic review and meta-analysis." š The Stark Reality: -Central Africa: 45.51% severity rate | 5.44% Case Fatality Rate (CFR) -West Africa: 25.43% severity rate | 0.97% CFR This massive geographic disparity exposes deep structural health inequities. The data proves how macro-level social determinants, like fragmented healthcare infrastructure, surveillance gaps, and unequal historical vaccine access, intersect with biological vulnerability. Furthermore, higher CFRs in community settings versus hospitals reveal severe, deep-seated barriers to formal medical care. Vaccine equity and sustained investment in regional health capacity are non-negotiable to dismantle these global health disparities. A massive thank you to Dr.Fabrice Zobel Lekeumo Cheuyem for the invitation to collaborate on this vital project. Deep gratitude to all co-authors for their incredible dedication and valuable contributions. š Read the open-access paper here: https://lnkd.in/egbCEdbY
